I am a 32 year old white male living in extremely religious middle America. Although I was born and raised as a Penecostal & I do believe in God, there's a constant struggle over my beliefs & the reality of my sexuality. Although my family believes it is a choice or a curable affliction, after years of self torment & countless hours of research I believe we are born this way. The one thing I have told family & friends during our conversations is that if it were a choice I would have never chosen to be homosexual. However, I have to give my family the credit they deserve. It has taken a very long time but they have learned to balance their beliefs with their love for me. They do not treat me different from any other member of our family & they show great interest & respect to my various talents. They allow my partner to attend all family functions & treat him with a great deal of respect. For this I am eternally grateful & I love them dearly for exhibiting the kind of love & acceptance that Christ did when he walked this earth. My partner & I have been together for almost a year & a half, & thanks to the complete failure of the Big 3, in this once booming automotive town, we are struggling to make a living. Our story isn't much different from the rest of Kokomo's residents but to compound our problems I suffer from acute scholiosis which causes crippling chronic pain, & Richie suffered a tramautic brain injury to his frontal lobe about 3 years ago. My medical problems have made it so my doctor only lets me work part-time and Richie's have made it impossible for him to secure or maintain employment. With our financial situation being so bleek I decided to find a way to make money doing something I have loved. My research brought me here & I was thrilled that I received an offer for my very first submission. I am looking forward to growing as a writer as I work to submit many more works to the content editors.
