John Schlosser
I spent 8 years in Corporate America reinventing the wheel in various IT department roles using technology ranging from SOHO/wireless solutions to WANs and Midrange computers. I was Microsoft and Novell certified when that was in style (and someone else was paying the training bills) and even made a point of joining the ACM at one point.
At some point I got real and hooked up with a midwestern consulting firm. I spent the next couple of years assisting various regional Insurance & Technology clients (what a mix) while dodging job offers (an occupational hazard). Again the technology mix was everything from client-server to LAN/WAN in various flavors and colors.
During the absolute worst moment, right before the bubble burst, I logged time as a sales engineer (read that as techie who could sell stuff) for a wireless integration company and then with an enterprise software company.
I jumped ship as the software company was sinking and landed on my feet as an independant who, through my company Shepherd Technology, now helps small to mid-sized clients in the DFW metro area with everything from point of sale solutions to web hosting to inventory management software.
