Jaclyn Licata
Jackie Licata, born and raised in Miami, FL, has been involved with competitive sports since the tender age of five. A competitive gymnast of 15 years, reaching level 10, a Junior National and Junior World champion Powerlifter, a current competitive thrower in the world of track and field, as well as, a currently competitive Olympic Weightlifter in training for the 2012 Olympic trials in the sport of Olympic style weightlifting; continues to hold all the current Florida State Olympic Weightlifting records. Jackie has attended several American Open Weightlifting championships, USA National Weightlifitng Championships and even the 2007/2009 World Team Trials. Jackie is also a safety certified professional gymnastics coach, who loves to work with children, and who loves what attributes sports brings to people of all ages, especially children. Jackie believes that sports give positive direction and save many young lives by teaching qualities that most people will never get to experience. Dedication, discipline, perseverance, responsibility, ambition to succeed, self-confidence, good sportsmanship, self awareness, goal setting, structure, belief in oneself, and most of all, mental toughness. Jackie believes in being all you can be, and never giving up on what you believe in, because without dreams, you become lost, and you end up on a long bumpy road through the journey of life. Jackie also thrives on motivating and helping to instill the essential qualities sports will bring upon all athletes involved in regular training and competition, which will better their character, and last them a lifetime. Jackie Licata has a real passion, and love for sport, and will continue to stay involved herself, as an athlete, and as a coach, to better those around her and within her community for as long as she lives.
