Ricky Fitzpatrick
Critics have long hailed Ricky Fitzpatrick as "the next James Taylor", with a voice that's "as smooth as moonshine". Comparisons to other artists like Jim Croce, Shawn Mullins, John Denver and Bob Dylan have also abounded over the years.
A longtime and award-winning vocalist and songwriter in the Folk and Country genres, a Top Ten Myspace artist, and founder of the charitable organization The Healing Power of Music, he stays active both in the industry and in the community.
Ricky has enjoyed a long and successful career of over 20 years in Folk and Country, celebrating two Number One singles and multiple industry accolades for songwriting and vocal performance. "Ballad of Billy the Kid" recently sold over 8,000 ringtones in a single day, making it one of the top five ringtones of all time for Myxer.com, the web's premier ringtone provider. His performances have taken him everywhere from the Bluebird Cafe to Eddie's Attic to Amateur Night At the Apollo.
In addition to many musical pursuits, today he also writes freelance, mostly about music, the music business and other music related subjects...as well as his love of gardening, self sufficiency, energy conservation and the long-term effects of drinking too much coffee.
Ricky lives, records and gardens, in the tiny community of Apple Valley (unincorporated), GA with his wife, children and one remaining goldfish, Vince Gills.
