James Lawrence
James Lawrence is one of the newest and freshest faces in the world of global wine journalism. He is a frequent contributor to decanter.com and the lifestyle magazine QS. In 2004, James went to study in Bilbao, Northern Spain. Luckily for him, the famous wine region of Rioja was just over an hour away by car.
He began to spend a great deal of time there, visiting the wineries in Rioja and speaking to local wine makers. Their passion for the subject and their pride in the wines was infectious. He began to realise what an amazing subject wine is and how wide and complex the world of wine could be. Subsequently James moved into wine retail while finishing his degree, and was hooked!
James founded thewineremedy.com to make wine accessible to all: the fellow wine enthusiast, the novice, indeed anyone who is curious to learn more about the wonderful world of wine.
James also is a passionate thespian, travel writer and speaks fluent Spanish after his time in Bilbao. He studied law at the University of East Anglia, where he spent some of the time studying for his degree
