Kimberly Thompson

Kimberly is excited to be a brand spanking new contributor to AC. Born and raised in Southaven, Mississippi, located minutes from Memphis, she is a bit of an expert on many things in her area. She began writing at an early age and excelled in her high school Creative Writing classes, serving as editor for the school newspaper and writing in a literary magazine. She has appeared in local theater productions. She began a career in the telecommunications industry, quickly becoming a necessary part of the sales and marketing team. While there, she appeared in product brochures, organized trade shows in LA, created website material, graphics, and logos, and appeared as a spokesperson for a nationally distributed Pet Smart training video. Over the next several years, Kimberly would try her hand as a waitress, salesperson of safety equipment, daycare provider, and Real Estate agent. After spending one summer home with her children, she took a job working as a Kindergarten teacher assistant. She currently works and attends college full-time. Kimberly has been married for 12 years to her best friend Stephen. They have three children: Taylor 12 Elijah 7 and Amelia 3. Kim and Stephen enjoy cooking together for their friends. They stay busy with their kids' competitive baseball and softball teams, karate, and tap dance. Kim enjoys serving as Team Mom for Taylor's team, singing, sewing, creating art, reading, watching movies, camping, and writing. Amelia was diagnosed in 2009 with RRP. Kimberly started a charity in her daughter's name to raise funds and awareness about RRP. You may read more about Amelia's story at www.ameliasvoice.com. Kimberly is looking forward to entertaining and informing the Associated Content community.
