I am a not yet-professional writer with only the inclination and passion to put my knowledge and opinions to paper or screen. I'm just beginning what I hope becomes a freelance career after working in various roles in the education field, from preschool to high school, and serving a year as an AmeriCorps*VISTA. In my year, I paired my experience of working with youth with the whole new (to me) world of non-profits and volunteerism.
That coupling has catapulted itself to the top of my passion list above the outdoors, sports, and music and only slightly below travel. I'm a wanderlust, well versed in travel domestically, much less so internationally, but am working on changing that one trip at a time.
Beyond the technical writing I've done in creating curriculum for teen leadership councils and volunteerism presentations, most of my writing experience was done as requested by teachers and professors, so I'm looking forward to learning about literary life beyond book reports and research papers.
