I've been deeply interested in Japanese rock music, particular the genre specified as visual kei, for about eight years, and this interest has spurred my creative writing and expanded my horizons. I spend a great amount of time listening to and reviewing the artists and music within both J-rock and visual kei. At this point, I'm semi-fluent in the Japanese language and enjoy translating lyrics from Japanese into English to promote an understanding of J-rock bands' songs outside of Japan. When I'm not involved with Japanese music, I'm often studying to complete a BA in English Literature, writing novels (one of which I expect to submit for publishing soon), or playing the bass guitar.
