This writer hails from the beautiful state of West Virginia. A proud Mountaineer, having been born and raised in the north central part of the state, I never dreamed of leaving my roots. At age 55 my husband, youngest daughter and I moved to the deep south. We arrived north of New Orleans the day after Hurricane Katrina. Our daughter and son in law are both disabled and were raising there daughter of 4 when they announced they were expecting twins. My husband and I felt the need to move and help out the family. After raising six children and having our lives embedded in those hills we became transplants, as we're called in the south. It has been a challenge for sure but with plenty of blessings. Our youngest daughter graduated high school and married a Louisiana man. They have blessed us with our youngest of 14 grandbabies. Our journey continues into our senior years after having been married for over half my life to this dear man. Writing has always been an interest to me and I'm looking forward to publishing many articles for Associated Content.
