Delbert Teachout

From 1967 to 1990 he was on active duty with the USAF where he served in Security Police for nineteen years. He was the director of the base alcohol rehabilitation office for his last three and one-half years, retiring as a captain. He has a B.A. in Psychology from Saint Leo University, an M.S. in Psychology from Central Missouri State University, and a PhD in Religion from Christian Bible College and Seminary. He is certified by the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals as a Certified Advanced Addiction Counselor and Internationally certified as an Internationally Certified Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor, and has been certified as a Cognitive-Behavioral Christian Counselor by the National Association of Cognitive Behavioral Therapists He has served in many positions in churches including: the nursery, 5th grade Sunday School teacher, Royal Ranger counselor, adult Sunday School teacher, secretary of the adult Sunday School department, Sunday School Superintendent, Church Training Director, and was a member of the deacon board in two different churches. From 1989 until 1996 he taught Old Testament Survey, New Testament Literature and General Psychology as an adjunct faculty for Alpena Community College Huron Shores Campus. He owned and operated a Christian book store from 1989 to 1992. He received his ordination into ministry from Shalom Ministry, Inc. in August 2002. From April 2001 until March 2008 he was the program director at the Guiding Light Mission where over five hundred men made professions of their faith in Jesus. He is currently working as a free lance writer with articles published in Steps, Breakthrough Intercessor, Churchmouse Publications, The Christian Journal, and Associated Content. He has been married for 35 years and has four grown children, and five grandchildren. He enjoys gardening, fishing, and writing.
