Shannon Lane
I am southern woman born and raised in North Carolina. I developed a love or passion even for writing when I was a young girl. My grandmother and I would write each other letters and she saw right away that my way with words stood out among many other children my age. Without even trying I soon found myself writing documents for my mothers job that won her a great deal of respect in her department of customer communications. That is still our little secret. I have two adorable children that are blossoming into little writers right before my very eyes. I always thought they would excel in math but low and behold they love to written word just as much as I do. I have a degree in horticulture that has gained me many wonderful jobs and has kept my name circulating in the community as the one to call with any type of lawn or garden issues. Both horticulture and writing are my sole income as I freelance each venue. I tried my hand at working for my local paper once but I soon realized that my creative gifts were being snuffed out and I was being asked to just simply write what I was told to write and to do in a style was much like every other person on staff. I need to stand out and to have room for complete creative expression.
