  • My Time - Your Time
Students, employees and children all want guidelines and limits that they know and know will be enforced. If you have a system, they will adhere to it - if they see a benefit.
  • Either It's True or It's Not
Many people get upset about what others say about them. They don't stop to consider whether the statement is true or false. If it is true, you can't change it, if it is false, there's no need to.
  • Every Child Can Learn -- .. Yes -- .. But -- .. Not Every Child Will Learn
There are some students who come to school only to disrupt class or socialize. Can they learn? Yes. But, they choose not to even try. Why is the teacher accountable?
  • If You Have Nothing to Do, Don't Do it Here
Many employees put in a lot of overtime and great effort. These people need to be allowed time to be with their families. This is a good policy theme for a compensatory time system.

Some people 'see the light" and become religious. I saw the light and lost religious beliefs. Read the transformation.

  • Sleeping in Class?
Students sleep because they are allowed to and we assume it is out of their control. Let them sleep, if they want. But, have a discipline in place when they wake.
  • Class Disruption? Not Tolerated
Students will do what you let them do. If you let them disrupt your class, they will do it and others will join. Take control early.
  • Be Prepared -- for School -- for Work -- for Life
In class, prepare your students for life. They need to learn to be prepared. We must help in that preparation.
  • Just Because You Have the RIGHT to Do Something Doesn't Make it RIGHT
Many people use their 'right' to do something or have something as a means to abouse others' rights. This is abuse. Learn when where and how to apply your 'right'.
  • Anytime You Have to Use Your Rank, Position or Title, Something's Wrong
Many people want to be friends with people they supervise. This is a recipe for disater. Be friendly not friends.
  • Education is a Participation Sport
How do you reach the inactive student in class? How can you make students participate? Why should a student participate in class? All of these are answered by creating a participation point system.
  • Perception is Reality
Some people 9espeically teens and young adults) think that it doesn't matter how they dress. This is not true. In class I discuss the fact that they are who people see.
