  • The Greatest Show (Train) on Earth
    At about 1:15AM on May 15 the circus train comes thru W. Trenton as CSX symbol P921 to set up for a show in Trenton, NJ. The video isn't the best do to lighting from the train and darkness. My Apologies.

    In a remote but scenic location west of Newport PA. an NS loaded coal drag rumbles eastbound.
  • MARC Commuter Trains
    Perryville is the final stop for MARC commuter trains out of Wash DC and Baltimore. They use diesel locos as well as electric ones, as this diesel powered train pulls into Perryville.
  • Great Railfanning @ Perryville, MD
    Perryville has 2 separate lines for railfanning, CSX (the former B and O) and Amtrak (formely the Pennsylvania Railroad). They both go across the Susquehanna River on massive steel bridges. Here an EB Amtrak comes thru.
  • Acela with Dopplar Effect
    An Acela trainset roars across the Susquehanna River Bridge and past the Perryville, MD station. The friendly engineer wales on the horn as he passes the depot. I love the airhorn of a passing train known as the "Dopplar Effect."

    Elvis, our 9 month old Beagle mix is at a dog park in Morrisville, PA. and he loves trains. Amtrak's NE Corridor is at the back of the park and trains run through continuously, Watch Elvis chase the trains.
  • SEPTA's New Silverliner 5 Trainset
    A SEPTA commuter train makes the final stop at W. Trenton NJ with the brand new Silverliner V. The parts were shipped from Hyundai in S. Korea and assembled in Philadelphia, PA. These commuter cars will be replacing the 1960s made Bud Cars.
  • SEPTA's Buds
    SEPTA Regional Rail still has some self-propelled coaches that were originally purchased by the Pennsy and Reading railroads. These cars will be in retirement real soon. Here is a 3 car train with Buds dropping off commuters at W. Trenton.

  • Norfolk Southern Pulls for Electrical Power
    A pair of NS thorobreds lead an empty coal drag thru Portage, PA. This train is going for a load of more coal to be burned at a local power plant. Listen to the detector at the end of the video.

    Take a look at a westbound freight as it exits the portal at Gallitzin, Pa. Railroads often use locomotives owned by other railroads, such as this SOO Line unit.

  • Cab Ride at the Strasburg RR
    During a visit to Strasburg, Pa. in November 2011, I got to ride in the cab of a self propelled railroad car. A very exciting moment and of coarse the camera was rolling. Due to trackwork I wasn't able to shoot the whole line. Enjoy!!!

  • Another Horseshoe Curve Near Altoona
    Here are some photos of what was the Mule Shoe Curve. It was abanded by Conrail in the late 1970s to early 80s. The old right-of-way was built by Pennsylvania RR to serve as a detour around the still in use Horseshoe Curve by NS.

    A daily occurrence, westbound Amtrak's Pennsyvanian passes through the small town of Cove, Pa. on it's way to Pittsburgh. This train is on Norfolk Southern owned tracks via trackage rights.
