Brett David Roberts
I m a 30 year old freelance writer who writes about NBA Basketball. I write for premier sports handicapping site Maddux Sports and have also been syndicated in national media outlets, such as USA Today and FOX Sports. In addition to basketball, I ve been beginning to cover the MLB some, as well, and cover PGA golf, NASCAR, boxing, MMA, tennis, and English Premier League soccer for Maddux Sports.
I began blogging about the NBA in 2003, for Fantasyball.net, a site which is long passed. I moved on to Fantasybasketball.com before writing for the Fantasy Basketball Cafe in 2005 to 2008. I wrote a few pieces for Bleacher Report, before joining Rant Sports, and later, The Sporting Rave Network owned by Colin Means. Brandon LaChance and I run the Oncourt Onslaught podcast, featured on iTunes.
I have experience in basketball as a player, a fan, and as a coach. I have been playing since I was seven years old, year round between school and AAU, and I played for Centre College in Danvillle, KY, a Division III NCAA program. My earliest memories of basketball include the expansion Orlando Magic teams and shooting on the gutter of our roof because we didn t have a basketball hoop yet. Basketball has been a part of my life since about the same time I started riding a bike, and my brother started at the same time, and he was three years younger than me. I couldn t imagine my life without hoops.
