Elan Kesilman-Potter
I have been writing since 1995 on a broad range of topics, including travel, education and gardening. Aside from freelancing, I am professionally active in the field of ESL (English as a Second Language), with experience in both teaching and working for Educational Testing Service, a provider of standardized tests to measure English proficiency.
My fiction and poetry has been published in venues such as Eclectica and Proscenium, and articles have been published throughout the web. Academically, my writing interests have been varied and typically to the left of center. For example, my Master's thesis explores how werewolf imagery is used in the Greco-Roman and Medieval Eras for cultural criticism.
At home, I enjoy gardening and spending time with family and pets. My husband and I have two Daschunds, a Pug, a Great Dane and a tabby cat. My other passion is playing pool, and my husband and I both play competitively in league and individual play. In Spring 2010, I received trophies from NAPA (National Amateur Pool Association) for being the Top Individual Point Player Champion in Arkansas as well as Top Point Female, earning qualification for the national play-offs in 2011.
