Jill Woodruff Stanton

Jill Woodruff Stanton has been teaching children for 14 years. She has a degree in Elementary Education from St. Cloud State University, a Master of Arts in Education from Hamline, and a Literacy Certificate for the Teaching of Reading and Writing from Hamline. She is also a licensed reading teacher.
Jill enjoys photography as a hobby, along with scrapbooking and creating photo books.
Although she never became an avid fisherman growing up on a large popular Minnesota fishing lake (Leech Lake), she thoroughly enjoys watching from the shore as her son and dad head out for a tournament.
Putting together short home movies using video clips and photographs is a great interest for Jill, and she has created videos for family members graduations and weddings, and even for her great grandmother's 100th birthday celebration.
Of course, her main focus and interests are in her family: Husband, Jeff, and two sons teenager Ian and preschooler Rowan, and lovable pup Cleo the Goldendoodle.
Jill is an avid reader and participates in a book club with friends. She is also very passionate about children's literacy and works hard in her classroom to make sure her students always have reading material at home to enjoy, whether it is checked out from her classroom library, or given to them through grants she writes to get books for them to keep. She is adamant that her own kids' home libraries are always well stocked.
Jill considers herself a life long learner. Most recently, she has been learning as much as she can about speech delays and developmental delays to help her youngest son Rowan with some challenges he is facing.
