Kelly Burke

Kelly Burke has been an administrator in private education for over 25 years, working exclusively with boys for the past 17 years. She currently serves as Vice President of Operations/Principal at Bethesda Home for Boys, a residential school for boys and the oldest childcare institution in the United States.

A specialist in single gender education, she has a heart for boys and the academic and social issues that they face in society. She seeks to help educators and parents create "boy friendly" environments that bring out the best in their sons and students.

She is especially supportive of teaching and parenting techniques that respect and build upon the unique physiological differences in boys' and girls' brains, and how those differences impact learning and behavior.

She is a violinist and pianist, travels often and is on a personal quest to find the world's most beautiful beaches and swimming pools.

Kelly is the mother of two sons, two cats and a dog, and lives on a campus with a herd of Hereford cows, dozens of quail, deer, foxes, raccoons and some very ornery wild peacocks.
