Maria Haskins

I have extensive writing experience and have worked as a freelance writer since 1991, writing articles as well as producing books of poetry and fiction.

I have a university education focusing on political science and international relations. My personal strengths include being a very quick learner as well as a quick reader. I am also detail-oriented and conscientious worker. I am a very good, concise writer and I have excellent language skills in both Swedish and English. I am reliable, intelligent and hard working.

Since 1989 I have done many different kinds of writing. I have written fiction, worked on developing TV scripts, and have been working as a freelance writer, writing articles and columns on various topics like travel, immigration, popular culture, movies and computers. I always do my own research, using mainly on-line resources as well as more traditional ones.

I am also taking courses in Technical Writing at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in Vancouver, Canada.

I was born in Sweden, but moved to Canada in 1991 and I hold both Swedish and Canadian citizenship. I am happily married with two children.

I am a very quick learner, punctual, reliable, hard working and very conscientious. I consider myself a problem solver and capable of learning new tasks quickly and thoroughly. I work well with deadlines.

I have 20 years extensive and varied writing experience, as well as experience working with various computer applications and programs.

I am creative, I pay attention to detail and I enjoy learning new ways of applying my skills as a writer.
