Ilene Snyder is currently employed in public education. She has done tribal literacy work with TEAM in Irian Jaya (now known as Papua, Indonesia). She created literacy materials in the native language and trained national people to be literacy teachers. Ilene also does volunteer work fostering rescued cats and participates in TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) with feral cats.
