Elizabeth Sloan, M.S., L.P.C., L.C.P.C. is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and Maryland with 20 years' experience. Elizabeth earned a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Maryland; and she is a Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, an indication of advanced training and expertise in the field.
She specializes in counseling for couples who are preparing for marriage or who are in distress because of affairs and online relationships, internet porn or secret sexual activities, and sexual problems, including infrequent or unfulfilling sex, lack of sexual desire, and sexual dysfunction.
In addition to her clinical work, Elizabeth has served as Clinical Director at the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, and Senior Director of Outcomes, Research, and Quality at Magellan Health Services, a national behavioral health care company. Elizabeth first knew she wanted to work with couples when she happened to wander into an international conference on marriage and family therapy in Dubrovnik, Croatia and realized she had found her calling.
She has helped hundreds of couples, and is happy to say grateful couples send her snapshots with notes saying things like "Thanks for saving our marriage - without you, this photo would not be possible!"
Some of Elizabeth's interests include kayaking, hiking, spending time with family and friends, swing dancing, and satisfying her curiosity and love of learning through research and reading.
