Jim Dunkerley

I am a doctor and scientist who is a longtime fan of sports, especially baseball. However, I also enjoy the arts, including symphony orchestras and various art galleries. I was born and raised in Southern New Jersey, just outside of Philadelphia in the Delaware Valley. I attended Catholic grammar school at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Maple Shade and high school at Camden Catholic in Cherry Hill, while playing baseball from the age of 7 until my senior year of high school. From the age of 14 I began working to make money of my own, since I was one of four children who were not as fortunate as many of our peers. At La Verne I played baseball and worked in the Information Systems Department to learn how to design webpages. Prior to graduating I spent a semester abroad in Barcelona, Spain, where I learned about Spanish art, history, language, and architecture. I graduated from La Verne in 1999 with degrees in both Political Science and Spanish, and thus became the first college graduate in the Dunkerley family. Upon graduation, I worked as a webmaster for the US Postal Service designing webpages. Once my internship was over, I set foot on the path toward another dream to become a judge and ultimately President by graduating from Whittier Law School. I have worked as a clerk and associate for various law firms, which have been valuable in sharpening my knowledge of the law. I now work in the staffing industry, where I apply my knowledge of the law as well as my skills in account

  • Pride and Honor
This poem is a blueprint for how we can honor both the fallen soldiers as well as those we are lucky to still have in our lives. It is a tribute to my good friend Bernard Corpuz, who was killed on June 11, 2006, in battle in Afghanistan.
  • Nintendo Entertainment System: The First to Bring the "Real" Arcade Home
There is no rival to the NES when it comes to game consoles before it or after it. It finally brought arcade-quality games to the home, and Nintendo revolutionized the way we played video games in the '80s & '90s, and its effects are still felt today.
