Lyn Walden
As a retired teacher, Lyn Walden is in a position where she can and does write about the elephant in the room regarding the nation's education woes. She is a mother, grandmother, and a staunch believer that she should be a sister to all women regardless of color. Because, "If the Great Spirit had desired me to be a white man, he would have made me so in the first place" (Sitting Bull). She is a strong advocate in keeping the mind active; therefore, she is a lifelong learner with numerous certifications and several college degrees. She owns an online business tutoring graduate students, and works as a freelance writer and editor who specializes in the children left behind by the No Child Left Behind act. She is a published author and an essayist who frequently and publicly uses her wit, in the style of Cicero, to chastise broadcasters and journalists for idiotic and discriminatory remarks toward innocent children, including those the politicians use for fodder to feed the evils of war. For fun and relaxation, she maintains a blog supposedly penned by her three cats where she writes utter foolishness to amuse her granddaughters.
She is a former flower child of the 60s, and Vietnam War protestor, an admitted bleeding-heart liberal, a stanch anti-war activist, and an advocate for all children regardless of how they managed to enter the United States. She is a COPAA advocate and has a non-profit service, Advocates for Kids, where so far, she has been able to donate all services. She is a catoholic with three huge Maine Coons who rule her; therefore, she is nocturnal. She loves indoor gardening, photography, a good intellectual challenge, Malaysian food, and her three beautiful girls. She is not a senior citizen!
