I am a freelance writer from Maine who is beginning a new career in writing after years of working at a non profit organization for troubled youth and children with autism. I have experienced a spectrum of career opportunities in my thirteen years working for the same organization; direct care worker, member of middle management, overnight shifts as well as evening and days, and now a maintenance worker responsible for everything from putting in light bulbs to constructing a thousand square foot industrial arts building.

In my mid-thirties, it is time to begin a new phase of my life, to use my experience, my knowledge, (and my English degree), for more than the daily newspaper crossword puzzle. Writing has been a passion for my entire life, but it has thus far been a private passion. It is time now to join the public dialogue.
