Born in New York City in 1943, I can remember the day that WWII ended. My childhood was a happy mixture of Irish and Catholic culture, which is not uncommon in Queens. I ventured forth, however, and married a Belgian living in America. We lived on Long Island for five years before re-locating to Bethesda, Maryland, because of my husband's job. Here we are, solid Maryland residents with accents that say we don't come originally from Baltimore!! We love our life here and enjoy being very close to our three children and four grandchildren.
